Chatsworth, CA, September 30, 2008—Martin “Bud” Schulman, founder of the Super Schulman Group (SSG), passed away this week after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 88.
Bud was a CPA, entrepreneur, and orthodontic practice management consultant based in Chevy Chase, Maryland. He became an industry icon through his determination to help orthodontists achieve untold levels of success by following the basic practice management principles and tenets which he developed throughout his 50-year career.
Bud served as co-moderator of the annual meeting of the SSG, which he founded in 1968. The SSG is an invitation-only association of nationally prominent orthodontic practices that includes many Dolphin customers in its ranks. Members meet annually to share ideas and brainstorm in an open forum. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jodie Schulman.
“Everyone who knew Bud loved him,” says Dr. Ron Redmond, an orthodontist in Southern California and current president of the SSG. “He devoted his life to the education and betterment of orthodontists. We will all miss his smile and encouragement.”
