Dolphin demos technology preview of 3D Surgery™ at the 92nd AAOMS in Chicago

Chicago, IL, October 2010—Attendees of the AAOMS 92nd Annual Meeting were treated to a technology preview of the new Dolphin 3D Surgery™ module, an orthognathic treatment planning and presentation tool with real-time soft tissue simulation. “3D Surgery is revolutionary in that it’s the first of its kind in its category,” says Chester Wang, director. “Clinicians can now see the simulated results of their treatment plan instantaneously, giving them the ability to adjust the plan each step of the way to achieve the desired outcome.”

Dolphin 3D Surgery supports volumetric datasets from a variety of 3D sources, such as cone beam CT, spiral CT, 3D camera systems, MRI, etc. It also supports 3D intraoral scans or electronic virtual models (in .STL or .OBJ file formats) for accurate virtual model surgery (virtual model surgery feature available in 2011). Currently in development. For more information, please visit here or contact your local Dolphin representative.
