Technical alert for users running Mac OS

Chatsworth, CA, November 26, 2008 - Customers running Dolphin on a Mac that is also running Apple’s Mac OS X (details here) should be aware of the system’s ongoing vulnerability to malicious software hackers. As reported by the reputable technical site ZDNet, Trojan Horses and other malware specifically targeting Mac operating systems have surfaced recently are becoming increasingly sophisticated with each new attack.

The Apple Security Updates page lists regular fixes being introduced to minimize the vulnerability, similar to Windows’s updates.

“Dolphin customers who are running the Mac OS should be aware the Mac platform is not as secure as some users might like to believe,” says Dewitt Blankenship, senior software engineer at Dolphin. Dolphin recommends contacting your local IT professional, local Apple store or Apple’s Web site for information on protecting your system against these attacks.
