Dolphin trainers and support staff were recently treated to a personal tour of the new Zuelke Financial Expert software module by the creator himself, Mr. Paul Zuelke. The president of Paul Zuelke & Associates, Paul traveled from West Linn, Oregon, to Chatsworth headquarters on Thursday, January 8, to explain in detail the theories and methods of his unique style of orthodontic financial management.
He emphasized the importance of a patient accounting package in any practice management program, and itemized the various elements of the Zuelke Financial Expert that set it apart from the rest. For starters, statistical practice performance reports in the Zuelke Financial Expert are easy to read and understand. For example, one simple report will tell you your “true” rate of case acceptance. Paul illustrated the importance of monthly statements, explaining that they serve as a history of a patient’s account—not a bill. “One third to ½ half of all embezzlement cases are found because a patient calls the office with a question about their account and the person who answers the phone is NOT the person who stole the money.” He also clarified the logic behind his credit rating system and how the Zuelke Financial Expert uses it to determine the best financial plan for each individual patient.
Paul kept the roomful of Dolphins engrossed throughout the 4-hour seminar, including trouble-shooting hypothetical support scenarios. In the end, everyone learned a lot about the Zuelke Financial Expert, and financial issues in general.
