 ABO ELECTRONIC CASE SUBMISSION

The American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) altered its certification process (www.americanboardortho.com) by allowing early entry into board certification, followed by continued re-examination throughout a doctor’s career. This major milestone allowed Dolphin® to collaborate with the ABO in anticipating an increased volume in candidate case submissions. As a result, we’re introducing the ABO Electronic Case Organizer software.

This special software program streamlines the creation of case documentations by allowing a candidate to compile, organize and print the images, tracings and superimpositions required for ABO certification. The software is based on the Dolphin ImagingPlus™ and Cephalometric Tracing modules. For candidates who do not own those Dolphin products, the ABO Electronic Case Organizer includes a one-year-licensed, 16-patient version of Dolphin ImagingPlus and Ceph Tracing software for a nominal fee of $175.

The official release of this product is pending final decisions by the ABO. However, the ABO is currently conducting a pilot study in anticipation of accepting electronic submission in the near future. You may already purchase this software to prepare and organize your cases (for printing your photographs, cephalometric tracings and superimpositions, etc.) For more information on electronic board case submissions, please contact the ABO at www.americanboardortho.com.

ABO Vendor Disclaimer: The American Board Orthodontics (ABO) welcomes communication from vendors who wish to develop software, templates, website ideas and construction, and any expertise which may facilitate ABO testing policies and data collection processes. These instruments would be field tested by the ABO for efficacy, and results of such trials may offer the vendor valuable product information for future research and development. Collaboration with the ABO may also provide the vendor with enhanced visibility within the orthodontic community. The ABO is a non-profit organization and emphatically does not endorse any specific commercial entity or philosophy. The Board is receptive, however, to the utilization of professional resources and skills of those computer software vendors dedicated to developing services and/or products which can assist the Board in assuring orthodontic excellence. Vendors interested in inquiring about the current technological needs of the ABO can contact Dr. John Grubb, Chairperson of the ABO Technology Committee at grubb@americanboardortho.com.
