Q: What is so good about Dolphin’s management system?
  For starters, Dolphin Management is a Dolphin product —known for its superior design, stability and responsive technical support (What ELSE can you ask for?!) Also, a team of seasoned professionals experienced with practice management software have designed and developed this product. It is built from the ground-up using the latest software platform technologies. Input on the product direction and features come from practitioners, office managers and well-respected practice management consultants. The design of this system did not come simply from one clinician or a programmer—which is very typical of most systems. Further, Dolphin is committed 100% in making this management product as successful as Dolphin's well-known imaging product. Unlike many other existing programs, Dolphin Management is open-platform, meaning that we will NEVER force you to use only Dolphin-supplied modules. You will have a choice to choose your favorite components, such as imaging, telecommunication or Web-enabled programs.

Q: I’m happy with Dolphin’s integration with my current management system; will it remain secure with Dolphin Management?
  Of course!!! In fact, we are still fully committed to honoring and supporting all current and future management integrations like we have been for years. Dolphin will NEVER disable or restrict any existing management integration. Did you get that? NEVER! And that’s our commitment. Remember: we are not like the others.
Q: You say you support Multi-doctor, multi-location practices. What does that mean?
  We always consider multiple-doctor and multiple-location configurations in our product design decisions. Dolphin Management is built around the latest technologies created specifically for large database storage. This means that patients can be tracked according to customizable criteria, such as patient demographics, conditions, specific doctor and location. Scheduling and searching for appointments can be performed by location. Doctor-time tracking can be done by doctor/location. Also, reports can be filtered by doctor/location.
Q: You say you support multiple-doctor and multiple-location practices. What about the single doctor and single location practices?
  Yes, Dolphin Management supports single-doctor and single-location practices, and is designed so that it can easily expand to the needs of your growing practice. As an aside, our pricing structure is calculated based on the size of the system, so the pricing for different sized practices are configured and calculated appropriately.
Q: Is Dolphin Management available in Canada?
  We have been updating our insurance and financial functions to conform to Canadian methods. Dolphin Management works best with English-speaking practices.

Q:  Is Dolphin Management available in the UK or Ireland ?
  We are currently in the process of updating Dolphin Management to conform to the new NHS rules. For private practices in the UK and Ireland, Dolphin Management has all necessary features.
Q:  Is Dolphin Management available any other languages?
  Currently, Dolphin Management is available only in English. We do not have plans to support any other languages yet. But, please stay tuned!
Q:  My current system does scheduling, financials, treatment charting and imaging. Can Dolphin Management support these functions?
  Dolphin Management is a full-featured practice management solution. The program features all the essential patient scheduling, treatment documentation, communication and accounts receivable functions. We want you to not only replace your current system, but also improve greatly over what you are currently using.

Q: What's included in a data conversion? Schedule, letters, questionnaire, treatment charting?
  From our experience, we know that each conversion project for a practice is unique and presents different challenges. We will make our best effort to convert as much data as possible. We can typically convert patient demographics, scheduling and financial data. We are also confident in converting treatment chart data. However, some systems encrypt the data to prevent others from accessing it. We do not convert form-letter templates; however, we will assist you in redesigning them into our letter system.

To avoid surprises, we carefully review with you what is and is not converted before your actual onsite installation. In addition, we typically pull your data into our system two times before your actual conversion. This is done for the purpose of reviewing and testing the data to ensure the final process proceeds as smoothly as possible.
Q: What about 3rd Party Integrations such as TeleVox, OrthoSesame, ReminderPro, TelePatient, OrthoBanc, Vanco? Do you offer integrations to these products?
  Yes, we currently have integration with V-Com, TeleVox HouseCalls, OrthoSesame and Reminder Pro, OrthoBanc and Vanco. As mentioned, Dolphin Management is built on an “open platform,” meaning we'll work with 3rd party companies who wish to integrate with Dolphin.
Q: What is your specific plan for my data conversion and training?
  The Dolphin Management basic implementation plan is as follows:
First, a practice is to receive 12 to 15 hours of telephone training before the actual onsite training. The phone training is conducted on converted data from your existing system. This stage also serves as a check-point to make sure that your database has been converted properly. Your onsite training will occur approximately two weeks after your phone training, depending on the size of your practice and any unforeseen circumstances. The final data conversion occurs in conjunction with onsite training.
Q: How long will training last and can I schedule patients?
  Onsite training typically lasts four days. We recommend the following patient flow during this time: 2 non-patient days, 1 light-patient day, and 1 regular-scheduled day, in that order. Of course, we will customize the training specifically for your particular practice needs.
Q: Who should be present during training sessions?
  The doctor and all staff members who will be using the system should be present during the trainings.
Q: I want to switch and convert both of my imaging and management data. Should I do one first?
  This really depends on your current configuration and situation. We will typically install Dolphin Imaging and Dolphin Letter System first, and the Dolphin Management program last. Note: we do not recommend that you switch both imaging and management systems simultaneously. We have found that this is typically too taxing on the practice flow.
Q: How is the program updated? How often do you plan to update it?
  All software updates are delivered automatically via the Internet. The software update process occurs each time the program is opened. The actual download process happens in the background so it doesn't interrupt your work. Once downloaded, all workstations in your office will receive the same update the next time the program is started.
Q: Why do you require high-speed, broadband Internet access?
  High-speed connection is necessary for us to support your system; convert your data; train your practice; AND deliver automatic updates via the Internet.
Q: Can we buy computer hardware from you?
  No. We recommend that you secure a competent local hardware (IT) technician to sell, install and maintain your system. In fact, we can recommend competent IT consultants who have successfully supported our existing customers.
