Dolphin Imaging can now run on recent model Macs, using either free Apple Boot Camp software, Parallels software from Parallels Inc., or Fusion from WMWare. A licensed retail copy of Windows is also required.
Following are the hardware and software requirements for running Dolphin on a Mac:
- Intel-based Macintosh Computer
- OS X 10.4.6 software or better
- Parallels Desktop and/or VMWare Fusion and/or Apple Boot Camp
- Licensed retail copy of Windows (Dolphin supports XP Pro with SP2 and SP3; Vista Business, Vista Enterprise and Vista Ultimate; Windows 7 Pro, Windows 7 Enterprise or Windows 7 Ultimate)
- Broadband Internet connection
- 2-button mouse
Following is a list of Intel-based Macintosh Computers:
- The Mac Mini
- The iMac
- The MacBook
- The MacBook Pro
- The MacPro
NOTE: High Resolution Dolphin 3D rendering is NOT available for the following models:
- Mac Mini
- 17-inch iMac
- Standard 20-inch Mac
- MacBook
Boot Camp
Boot Camp is free software bundled with OS X Leopard that allows dual booting of Mac OS X and Windows. Only one operating system can be run at a given time. When using Windows, some of your Apple Peripherals might not function in the same manner as they do in OS X. Click here for further details.

To Run Dolphin using Boot Camp:
Your Boot Camp software comes packaged with an installation guide. Follow the instructions carefully. It is recommended that you backup your Mac before installing Boot Camp.
If you are the least bit uncomfortable setting up this software, please contact your local IT professional for assistance.
Once Boot Camp and your retail copy of Windows are installed, Dolphin Imaging may be installed and used as normal. Please refer to the Boot Camp guide for advanced booting options.
Parallels Desktop
Parallels Desktop is Virtual Machine Software from Parallels, Inc. It runs a virtualized Windows operating system simultaneously with your native Macintosh operating system. Click here for further details.
To Run Dolphin using Parallels Desktop Virtual Machine Software:
Your Parallels software comes packaged with a program called Installation Assistant, which is designed to help your installation process go smoothly and hassle-free.
If you are the least bit uncomfortable setting up this software, please contact your local IT professional for assistance.
Once your Parallels software is installed and configured, Dolphin may be installed and used as normal. Please note that your user experience may differ depending on the version of Parallels you use.
VMWare Fusion
Fusion is Virtual Machine Software from VMWare, Inc. It runs a virtualized Windows operating system simultaneously with your native Macintosh operating system. Click here for further details.

Unless you have experience with network engineering, it is recommended that your local IT professional set this up for you. WE CANNOT ASSIST IN SETTING THIS UP. MOREOVER WE CANNOT PROVIDE TECHNICAL SUPPORT IF THIS SOFTWARE IS NOT INSTALLED. YOU WILL BE DENIED DOLPHIN TECHNICAL SUPPORT UNTIL OS X VNC IS IN PLACE. THIS SOFTWARE WILL ONLY WORK WITH OS X. |
