| Q: | What is Aquarium? |
Aquarium is Dolphin’s new interactive patient education and case presentation software. It is designed for use by orthodontists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, and other specialists to demonstrate diagnostic findings, corrective procedures, appliance use, symptoms, and more. |
|
| Q: | How is Aquarium different from similar software products on the market? |
|
Aquarium uses high-quality 3D graphics for a modern look that really speaks to today’s generation of tech savvy patients. Communicating in 3D grabs their attention—and promotes comprehension. Aquarium also works nicely over networks without expensive licensing fees and operates under all types of monitors and resolutions, including widescreen LCDs. |
|
| Q: | Will Aquarium work on my network? |
| Aquarium has full network sharing capability. | |
| Q: | What about licensing? |
| Your Aquarium user rights are issued via a Hardware Security Key—also known as a “dongle.” Dongles come in two types: A Single User Key is plugged directly into your computer’s USB port and allows you to run Aquarium on that computer. A Network Server Key is plugged into any computer’s USB port in your network (usually a server), and allows any number of computers to run Aquarium simultaneously—depending on how many licenses you’ve purchased. | |
| Q: | I’m already a Dolphin Customer. Do I need another dongle? |
| No. We can add your Aquarium licensing rights to your existing dongle. This can be done simply with just a phone call and a credit card. | Q: | What are the minimum hardware requirements to run Aquarium? |
| To run Aquarium at its maximum potential and in the way intended, you must have Windows XP Professional (with SP2 update or later) or Windows Vista (Business, Enterprise or Ultimate editions); Pentium M processor, 1 GB RAM and 40 GB available hard disk, broadband Internet connection, and a monitor with a display resolution of at least 1024 × 768 (XGA). Aquarium, however, will display with consistent quality on monitors and LCDs of ALL sizes, including wide screen monitors. Aquarium content will automatically conform to your display, with no need to reconfigure the resolution, in contrast to other similar programs. |
|
| Q: | Does Aquarium run on a Mac? |
| Yes! Aquarium will operate on an Intel-based Mac using free Apple Boot Camp software. | |
| Q: | Can I insert my own images into my Aquarium presentations? |
| Yes! You may integrate personalized content, such as your office photos and manufacturer-specific appliances, into your Aquarium presentations. The first release of Aquarium will not yet support the integration of images of the “current” patient, however, we plan to make such a feature available in the near future. | |
| Q: | Will Aquarium support memorized “playlists?” |
| Yes, the first release version of Aquarium will support saving, playing, editing, etc., of playlists. So, for example, you could string together a separator presentation, an RPE presentation, bracket bonding, followed by retention, and call that saved list “phase 1 with RPE,” and play that entire sequence with one click. | |
| Q: | What about the specific appliances that I use? |
| Dolphin is consistently engaged in an ongoing, collaborative project with manufacturers to incorporate images of their products into Aquarium’s comprehensive library. If the specific appliances you use in your practice are not yet included in Aquarium, you can notify us and easily add them yourself in the meantime. | |
| Q: | Will audio be available to complement my Aquarium presentations? |
| Not yet, but we plan to make that available soon! | |
| Q: | Can I insert my own voice into my Aquarium presentations? |
| At this time, there is no feature that allows a doctor to dub his own voice onto Aquarium content. But again, we plan to make such a feature available soon! | |
| Q: | How will I receive updates? |
| Content and program updates for Aquarium will be delivered to your computer periodically and automatically via the Internet, provided you have a current support contract and a broadband Internet connection. | |
| Q: | Why do I need a broadband connection? |
| Broadband is necessary so that we may deliver sizable software update files automatically through the Internet. Also, should you require service from our Technical Support Team, a broadband connection is necessary to access your computer and perform any necessary work. Please note that we can only access your computer with your permission; in other words, having a broadband connection will never compromise the security of your computers. |
|
| Q: | Does Aquarium integrate with Microsoft PowerPoint? |
| Provided you have Aquarium properly installed, you may run designated slides as a hyperlink in PowerPoint. The Dolphin Development Team has plans to develop additional features with PowerPoint in upcoming releases. | |
| Q: | Will Aquarium be integrated with my Dolphin Exam Questionnaire? |
| Dolphin Imaging 10.5 and Dolphin Management 3.5 are both designed with a feature that will integrate your exam questions with PowerPoint, allowing you to run Aquarium contents as hyperlinks in PowerPoint. | |
| Q: | Can I still run Aquarium if I don’t have Dolphin software? |
| Yes! Aquarium is fully operable as a stand-alone program—and it also integrates beautifully with Dolphin Imaging and Management software. | |
| Q: | Will Aquarium integrate with my existing systems? |
| As with all Dolphin software, Aquarium is an evolving product. While all of our Imaging and Management products fully integrate with other systems on the market, Aquarium is still in the testing stage regarding integration. Please check back for updates on the status of this. | |
